At the University of Bahrain, Architectural Design IV focuses on producing an advanced conceptual design requiring solutions to a complex set of spatial needs with emphasis on culture as a form giver.The primary learning outcomes expected from the students in this studio comprise the understanding of architecture as a complex solution to functional social, cultural and environmental problems and the ability to recognise the importance of culture and society in the conception of an architectural solution and developing an appropriate form in response to cultural needs. It also implies the student's ability to produce an advanced conceptual design proposal and present it convincingly; be able to imagine, visualise and discuss architectural ideas and their physical manifestations and to judge, select and engage appropriate functional arrangements to produce a building that meets a set of given needs.
